New opening of the EMAG plant in Querétaro, Mexico
Over the past ten years, Mexico has developed into a key location within the USMCA free trade zone. The country owes this position to its strategic location, favorable investment conditions, high educational standards, robust infrastructure and deep-rooted manufacturing traditions. The country is attracting significant investment in the automotive, aerospace, electronics and consumer goods sectors and is expanding its research and development capabilities.
The newly opened plant in Querétaro covers an area of 2,880 m², including 1,800 m² of production space with 30 machine assembly stations. The offices are spread over three floors with a total area of 1,200 m². On the third floor there is a forum for customers, suppliers and employees with meeting rooms and a canteen. The offices on the second floor are intended for administration, quotation preparation, sales and engineering, while the first-floor houses service and production areas, changing rooms and an air-conditioned measuring room.
Dr. Mathias Klein, CSO of the EMAG Group, underlines the importance of the new location: "This plant is an important building block in our expansion strategy and demonstrates our continued commitment to the Mexican market. We want to further expand our presence in this dynamically growing region."
Since entering the market in 1997, EMAG has continuously invested in Mexico, including the establishment of a subsidiary in Mexico City in 2003 and the opening of its headquarters in Querétaro in 2015. EMAG Mexico was awarded Supplier of the Year in 2010 and 2016 and realized its first turnkey project in 2019.
