Area of AMB Award Nominees

[Translate to English:]

The AMB Award honoured the best submitted products and exhibits showcased at AMB, provided an overview of the current state of the art in the metalworking industry. Evaluated according to various criteria by a distinguished neutral jury, outstanding exhibits and innovations were honoured in different product categories.

The jury consisted of key officials from the three sponsoring associations, as well as representatives from the sience community. The close collaboration between industry and academic representatives ensured an objective and competent assessment of the submitted exhibits and products.

The AMB Award in the various categories was presented during AMB on the AMB stage in the Atrium:

  • "With our product, we enable contract manufacturers to achieve enormous cost and time savings when preparing quotations and placing orders. What used to take days by e-mail and telephone can be done in just a few minutes with the webshop. The customer uploads the technical specifications of their component, has it costed and can place an order directly. We software developers and start-ups now feel at home at the AMB. Nevertheless, digitalisation is still a new topic for many users and decision-makers. Business relationships are based on trust, especially in the mechanical engineering industry. Building this trust is therefore one of our most important tasks. The AMB Award helps us to create a basis of trust. It sets us apart and acts like a seal of quality."

Dr. Philipp Sauter, Managing Director, goCAD GmbH

  • "As a spin-off of our sister company Blaser Swisslube, we have more than 80 years of experience in the field of cooling lubricants. Liquidtool has developed a fully automatic cooling lubricant management system on this basis, which monitors and regulates the fill level, concentration and temperature in the tanks. The task of monitoring and readjusting the cooling lubricant circuit, which is often perceived as a tedious undertaking, no longer needs to be done by the machine operators. With this development, we have created a profitable solution for all elements involved in the process: machine, tool, component and employee. We celebrated the AMB Award at our stand party in the evening and are delighted to have received this honour."

Daniel Brawand, Head of Sales and Marketing, Liquidtool Systems AG

  • "AMB is now one of the most important trade fairs in Europe for Mahr. That's why we are particularly proud of this award. Our motivation for entering our MC 510 for the AMB Award was that this roughness measuring device for machining centres represents a world first in terms of measuring according to roughness standards and with very high accuracy. For many customers, this means an enormous process improvement. That's because it is no longer necessary to unclamp workpieces from the machine in order to carry out precise roughness measurements, and they can instead be measured within the machine process. It is also possible to draw conclusions about the tool service life based on the roughness."

Marcel Zimmermann, Vice President Marketing, Mahr GmbH

  • "Our MAXXOS T212 is a hexagonal mandrel in the shape of a pyramid instead of a round cone. This means that the segmented clamping bushing with the hexagon socket has a 100% positive fit on the clamping bushing in any clamping position. The mandrel therefore provides a significantly higher holding force than a round mandrel and enables up to double the torque transmission and corresponding cutting rates. The MAXXOS T212 mandrel clamps via pull-back, without a draw bolt, and is therefore ideal for workpieces with very short clamping lengths without any loss of clamping length. Thanks to its bayonet quick-release fastener, it also increases the time saved during set-up and is less prone to fault. We are delighted to have received this award. The AMB is an important industry leading trade fair for us and the AMB Award therefore has a special significance. The award is also an incentive for our entire team to continue working on cutting-edge solutions for machine tools and automation in the future."

Stefan Nitsche, Head of Main Products, Hainbuch GmbH

  • "We were honoured with the AMB Award in the machine tools and production systems category for achieving wire savings of up to 30 percent while at the same time improving surface quality and saving energy. We are delighted to have been recognised for our efforts to make production processes more sustainable and efficient without having to compromise on the highest manufacturing quality. This is achieved by the Sodick iGroove+ patent and the SPW generator in its latest development stage. In conjunction with fully automatic control of the dielectric pumps, the ALC iG+E series also achieves impressive energy savings of up to 20 %. The AMB Award is a very special honour for us, because the AMB is a particularly important trade fair for us and it is where we meet our target groups. The award emphasises our efforts to set the highest quality standards as an industry leader. We will celebrate this with the entire team."

Salvatore Cocco, Sales Manager, Sodick Deutschland GmbH

  • "We won an award for our S700 exoskeleton. It is the world's first active exoskeleton for professional use that relieves strain on the arm, neck and shoulder muscles. With up to 5 kg of force, the S700 supports the user during assembly and handling tasks at chest and shoulder height or overhead. It can be adapted to different body sizes and shapes without tools and can be adjusted to different activities using different assistance modes, which we call presets. Winning the award in the 'Automation and Handling Technology' category shows that our technology is at the cutting edge of the metalworking industry. This award makes our product even more visible and tangible for both visitors and other exhibitors alike."

Lukas Czaja, Managing Director, exoIQ GmbH

  • "The VITO 90 cooling lubricant filter sets new standards in filtration technology. In terms of an IOT approach, its AI-supported sensor technology only requires an internet connection as well as a power connection and hoses. The system can be expanded as part of a modular system and put into operation on a standalone basis via plug & play. It efficiently removes impurities and chips from cooling lubricants, preventing blockages in pumps and optimising machining processes. The portable and compact filter is placed directly in the cooling lubricant tank and cleans the liquid automatically at regular intervals. We are extremely proud to have won the AMB Award in the special category of sustainability. This award confirms our commitment to developing innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for the metalworking industry. We are proud to be able to make an important contribution to resource-saving production."

    Andreas Schmidt, CEO, VITO AG

  • "The aim in developing the S-Cut UNImax was to bring a high-performance product for sustainable machining onto the market. It is made from 99% recycled raw materials, can be used universally, is extremely powerful and offers a long service life. This means that our customers not only benefit from more efficient processes when it comes to sustainable machining. Thanks to the use of our currently most sustainable carbide grade, the S-Cut UNImax has a smaller ecological footprint than a standard tool even before it is used for the first time. From our point of view, this makes it currently unique and we are pleased that we can make an important contribution to greater sustainability in machining."

Steffen Baur, Senior Product Manager, CERATIZIT S.A.
