Umati (universal machine technology interface) is an initiative jointly supported by the VDW and VDMA for the dissemination and use of open interface standards based on OPC UA. At AMB 2024, the umati special show of the same name showed how machines and plants can communicate with each other or be integrated into customer- and user-specific IT ecosystems.
