Formal notes for Social media
We use our social media channels to communicate with you, to inform you about current topics at Messe Stuttgart and to give you an insight into our daily worklife. Every now and then we also organise a prize draw. On this page, we have compiled important information and formal requirements regarding our social media activities.
We would like to invite you to communicate and interact with us on the social media channels of Messe Stuttgart. We are happy to receive praise, criticism, questions and comments. For mutual exchange with and among each other, we wish to have a friendly and respectful tone of action.
Not to be tolerated are:
- Comments and content that violate the General Equal Treatment Act or other existing laws or offend common decency
- Insults, threats and vilifications
- Right-wing thinking, racism and hate propaganda
- Inflammatory, pornographic or obscene content
- Violations of the rights of third parties
- Abuse of the comment and contribution function for advertising purposes
- Election and party advertising
- Calls to campaigns, rallies or donations
- Comments that do not address the subject of the post
If the netiquette is not observed, the community editors at Messe Stuttgart reserve the right to delete, hide or report comments to the respective platform operator without giving reasons. In extreme cases and in the case of "repeat offenders" we reserve the right to block the author.
Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH accepts no responsibility for the contributions and content of external links posted by users. This lies with the constituent person itself.
Data protection
Once published on the Internet, comments, images and videos remain available on the Internet for a very long time or can be found via search engines. Therefore, please consider carefully whether the comments, pictures and videos you post should still be viewed by third parties after a few years.
Please get information about the privacy policies of the respective networks and also consider who can see the content and comments you post, and check or update your privacy settings regularly.
Co-organizer requests
The events published on the Messe Stuttgart website should provide an overview of all current events. We will be pleased to receive co-organizer requests for guest events in order not to manage duplicate events here. Please understand that for reasons of clarity and content planning, we do not accept co-organizer requests for individual topics, exhibitors or participants within the framework of a trade fair.
Business hours
We would like to respond to your requests and messages always as quickly as possible. You therefore best write during our business hours from 8:00 to 18:00h UTC+1 (Monday to Friday and during Messe Stuttgart organised events). Outside of these times, on weekends or holidays, processing may take up to the next working day.
We reserve the right to update and adapt the netiquette.

Terms and conditions of Messe Stuttgart for social media competitions:
The following terms and conditions apply to competitions organized by Messe Stuttgart on its social media channels (e.g. on Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
Participation can take place online on the respective social media channels of Messe Stuttgart during the period specified in the article.
§ 1 Organiser, confirmation of participation, prize
(1) The organiser shall be Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH, Messepiazza 1, 70629 Stuttgart.
(2) Entitled to participate are natural persons of age residing within the European Union (hereinafter referred to as "participants").
(3) Employees of Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH are excluded from participation.
(4) The participant is responsible for the correctness of his/her information, in particular his/her e-mail and postal address.
(5) The winners of the competition will be selected by lot.
(6) The prize shall not be paid out in cash. Messe Stuttgart reserves the right to replace any prizes in kind or similar with alternatives of equal value.
§ 2 Participation
(1) Participation in the competition takes place online by fulfilling the requirements stated in the entry (e.g. commenting, linking other persons, correct solving of a puzzle).
(2) Multiple participation to increase the odds of winning (e.g. by multiple comments) is not possible. Only the first comment/contribution received will be considered.
(3) Participation is not dependent on the purchase of a product or the use of a service from Messe Stuttgart.
§ 3 Exclusion from social media competitions
Messe Stuttgart reserves the right to exclude persons from the competition in the following cases:
a) in the event of a breach of these Terms and Conditions;
b) in the event of the use of unauthorized aids and in the event of the creation of advantages by manipulation or the like;
c) in the event of inaccurate information in connection with the application.
§ 4 Implementation and processing
(1) Participation in the competition requires:
a) that all the requirements set out in the contribution have been met
b) that all competition questions may be answered correctly
(2) After the draw, the winners will be contacted by direct mail or, if this is not possible, by comment with a link from the winner. The notification is always in the same social media channel that was used to participate.
(3) If a postal delivery of the prize is required, the following data is needed, which can be provided in the context of a private message to Messe Stuttgart:
- Last name
- Street and house number
- Postcode and city
The data is provided voluntarily, however, the prize cannot be sent if not mentioned.
(4) If the prize is a personalised ticket or voucher, the following data is needed, which can be provided in the context of a private message or by e-mail to Messe Stuttgart:
- Last Name, First Name
- E-mail address or telephone number
- Street and house number
- Postcode and city
- If necessary, the day and place of the desired event day
- If necessary, further information on the realization of the prize
The data is provided voluntarily, however, the prize cannot be realised if not mentioned.
(5) Participation is only possible via the social media channels mentioned in the article. Any other entry to the competition is not permitted and will therefore not be processed or considered.
§ 5 Premature termination of the competition
Messe Stuttgart reserves the right to cancel or terminate the competition at any time without giving reasons. Messe Stuttgart will make use of this possibility in particular if for technical reasons (e.g. viruses in the computer system, manipulation or errors in the hardware and/or software) or for legal reasons a proper performance of the competition cannot be guaranteed. If a termination is caused by a participant, Messe Stuttgart shall be entitled to demand compensation from the participant for the damage caused by the termination.
§ 6 Liability, exemption
Messe Stuttgart's liability to the participant is limited as follows:
(1) In principle, the liability of Messe Stuttgart, its legal representatives and its vicarious agents is excluded.
However, the liability exclusion according to Sentence 1 shall not apply
a) in the case of liability under the Product Liability Act,
b) in the case of negligence by Messe Stuttgart or its legal representatives or its agents,
c) in the case of gross negligence by Messe Stuttgart or its legal representatives or its agents,
d) in cases involving loss of life, physical injury or damage to health, which is due to a negligent infringement of an obligation by Messe Stuttgart or its legal representatives or its agents,
e) culpable infringement of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) by Messe Stuttgart, its legal representatives or its agents. Material contractual obligations are such which the organiser must fulfil in accordance with the content, nature and purpose of the contract, and on the fulfilment of which the participant regularly relies and may rely because they are an essential prerequisite for the proper performance of the contract (cardinal obligations).
f) A change in the burden of proof to the detriment of the ticket participants shall not be related to the above provisions.
§ 7 Data protection
(1) Personal information may be required to enter the competition. These data are used for the purpose of conducting the competition (identification and notification of the winners) and on the legal basis Art. 6 Section 1 lit. b GDPR collected, stored and used.
After the competition expires, your data will be deleted, unless you have given your consent to receive electronic advertising. After a possible objection to the use of the (remaining) data for advertising purposes, your data will be blocked and used exclusively for the administration of its opposition.

(15 GDPR) and, in certain cases, the right of rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) or deletion (Art. 17 GDPR) or to restrict the processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and on opposition (Art. 21 GDPR). § 8 Other
(1) Legal action is excluded.
(2) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
(3) If individual clauses of these Terms and Terms & Conditions of Participation are or become invalid, the validity of the other clauses shall not be affected.
