Efficient Tensioning syst. for fuel cells
Numerous factors are decisive in designing fuel cell tensioning systems and also making them particularly efficient in terms of installation space, volume, assembly capability and durability. Joining technology such as the KXpanded developed by Kamax, which meets requirements such as length, axial straightness and strength, can help improve these target parameters. Furthermore, great potential lies in researching the force-elongation behavior of a fuel cell stack during operation, as well as adapting the tensioning system according to this behavior.
For this reason, Kamax is conducting research on fuel cell stacks in this regard. By generating the right preload force on the stack and providing appropriate stiffness at any time during operation, both technological and financial benefits can be generated. This knowledge enables functional integration of the tensioning system components, which both reduces the number of components required and increases assembly speed.
