Market for good taste - The Slow Food Exhibition

  • "I want to know about the history of a food product. I want to know where food comes from. I enjoy imagining the hands of the people cultivating, processing and cooking the food what I am eating."

Carlo Petrini, founder and President of Slow Food

The trade fair

The market for good taste is a trade fair for end customers and trade visitors where consumers become co-producers. It is also a platform for farmers, food manufacturers and restaurateurs who put the Slow Food triad of „good, clean, fair“ into practice as a basic principle in their corporate philosophy. The trade fair has long been permanently established as a leading event of Slow Food Deutschland both among perceptive connoisseurs and critical consumers possessing an awareness of nutrition and the environment.

All the exhibited products are subjected to the strict Slow Food quality test. According to this test, the products must be manufactured based on traditional craft methods, they may only contain a very small amount of additives and they must protect the environment in a sustainable manner. A great challenge! That‘s because natural processing of natural raw materials means that producers must possess special craft skills, many years of experience, extensive knowledge and a love of their product.

Come and present your products to extremely interested visitors and acquire new regular customers - from end users through to restaurateurs or food retailers. Welcome to the market for good taste - the Slow Food trade fair!

The philosophy

The maxim of Slow Food is enjoyment with common sense - and with “good, clean and fairly remunerated“ products. Founded in Italy in 1986, Slow Food became an international non-profit organisation in 1989. Slow Food combines enjoyment and food with awareness and a sense of responsibility. The objectives are to protect biological diversity in our food, extend taste education and bring together producers of excellent food and consumers through events and initiatives.
