Two New TOURMALINE C-Mount Lenses by Schneider-Kreuznach

Schneider-Kreuznach expands the TOURMALINE lens family with two new C-Mount lenses: the TOURMALINE 2.8/20 C-LD and the TOURMALINE 2.8/20 C-SD. Optimized for long and short working distances respectively, these innovative lenses build on the performance of the existing TOURMALINE series, providing users with robust imaging solutions in industrial and other demanding environments.

On the base of the well-acclaimed TOURMALINE 2.0/20, the new lenses combine high optical performance with the familiar mechanical design and focusing approach found in other TOURMALINE models. By streamlining the construction, both lenses offer the same high-caliber imaging quality in a lighter, more compact package. They deliver a key cost advantage for system integrators and machine builders seeking powerful yet economical solutions.

The new models support sensor sizes up to 1.3" (24 mm) and pixel sizes down to 2.4 µm, ensuring outstanding resolution for critical machine vision applications. In addition, a low chief ray angle allows for seamless compatibility with all SONY Pregius™ generations, further broadening the lenses’ appeal across a range of industrial inspection, surveillance, and metrology use cases.

The TOURMALINE F2.8/20 mm 1.3" C-Mount SD lens is optimized for short working distances < 0.7 m.
