Energy research

ZAE Bayern is a research institute in Garching near Munich that is engaged in energy research from fundamentals to application. Since our foundation in 1991, we have been working towards the goal of reducing CO2 emissions through renewable energies and efficiency measures. ZAE enables its customers to benefit from the results of future-oriented energy research and to strengthen their market position through innovative, competitive energy technology solutions.
 
At Volta-X we will present two research fields: Energy storage technologies for sector coupling and energy system analysis and integration. In the field of electrical and thermal storage technologies, the topics of redox flow batteries and latent heat storage will be presented. As an example of our approach to analysing and optimising energy systems, we will show the practical implementation of an innovative energy supply system for a commercial district.
