Accreditation Guidelines
As trade fair organisers, we want to make it easier for media professionals to access information about our events and our company with the help of an accreditation. The accreditation is carried out exclusively for the purpose of journalistic reporting.
Media accreditation can be obtained by:
Individuals from Germany or abroad who can prove their journalistic (also photojournalistic) activity (with reference to the respective trade fair topic) as follows:
a. By presenting a valid press card of a national or foreign association of journalists;
b. By submitting articles to their name not older than six months at the time of the event;
c. By submitting an imprint in which they are named as an editor, permanent editorial staff or author not older than three months at the time of the event;
d. By submitting a written order from a full editorial team in the original with reference to the current trade fair;
e. By means of a web link to an online publication that is established in the relevant industry community and has an appropriate reach. Here, prior accreditation is required due to ensuing examination effort. Such online media must have been in existence for at least three months, have regular entries and the last text relating to the trade fair subject must be no older than three months. (In individual cases, there may be separate more detailed accreditation rules and a separate status for bloggers.)
f. By submitting proof no older than six months that they are working for media at universities, (technical) colleges or school newspapers, or by presenting a valid ID card from a student or youth press organization or by submitting a written confirmation from the university, (technical) university, school confirming the editorial work for the university, university magazine or the school newspaper.
We would like to point out that the presentation of a press card is usually not the sole basis for accreditation. The trade fair organiser reserves the right to request further evidence to verify journalistic activity in accordance with points a – e.
Legitimation should be presented in German or English. In individual cases, the trade fair organiser reserves the right to request the additional presentation of a valid personal document with a photograph. There is no right to accreditation. If necessary, the trade fair organiser will exercise their domestic authority.
The following groups of persons are not accredited:
- Individuals without journalistic legitimacy, such as customer advisors, sales managers, ad managers or webmasters, PR consultants and private companions
- Germans residing in Germany who present a foreign press card
- Persons who submit a written order from a freelance media worker
- Individuals who are exclusively active in private social networks
